MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Resource officers will be heading back into Moorhead Area Public Schools Friday. The officers were removed from the schools in August because of a new Minnesota law that the Moorhead Police Department said put the officers at risk of civil or criminal liability. Police departments, the Minnesota Police Chiefs Association and other professional law enforcement groups were concerned that the law would hinder the work of resource officers in controlling fights or other disturbances.
