MOORHEAD — A new law in Minnesota that went into effect on Aug. 1 requires all law enforcement agencies to equip their officers with naloxone. The Moorhead Police Department had not yet been equipped with the drug that's used to help reverse overdoses. The department had already created a policy in March to issue the drug to their officers. Moorhead Police said that when naloxone was first starting to be distributed in the area to emergency responders, it was decided that other Moorhead agencies were better suited at administering the drug than police.
