MOORHEAD — The Moorhead School District has received $116,903 in state funds to add cameras and upgrade video recording for stop signs that extend from the sides of school buses. The district joined a group of 27 schools and transportation companies that were awarded the grants from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. The program is aimed at holding motorists accountable when they do not stop for buses, the school district said. Minnesota law requires drivers to stop for school buses when the vehicle's flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended.
