Entering high school Hermantown's Liv Birkeland thought her collegiate calling would come from the courts. Now a senior, with a baton in hand and sneakers laced tight, track and field proved to be her destiny.On Wednesday she signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to compete at the Division II level with Minnesota State University, Moorhead.'It definitely wasn't the easiest decision. I thought definitely basketball at the start of my high school career, but I really leaned into track my last two years.
